JOANA STEFANUTTO
transdisciplinary artist
Joana Stefanutto
transdisciplinary artist residing in Minas Gerais
As an artist, Joana uses allegories to explore themes related to existentialism, with important provocations related to our behaviors and taboos imposed by the society in which we live. Through the bones of animals he finds in his searches, in addition to discarded materials and mines, he creates analogies that provoke our certainties and uncertainties about life and death.
Among its themes, it addresses important issues such as urban exodus, social distancing, subversive motherhood and personal freedom.
To be who you are.
Understand, for Joana power is not a physical issue but a state of mind.
We are powerful when we are.
Graduated and graduated in visual arts with a degree in artistic skills, she was an art educator for 10 years and an experimental artist since forever.
In the last 5 years, living in Serra da Mantiqueira, he has been refining his own unique artistic language and identity.
She firmly believes in the encouragement that women can give each other, beyond speech, putting themselves in places of action in society and making it happen for themselves.
The world is constantly changing and Joana, as an artist, understands that she is an important character of resistance and transformation, for others and for herself.
